biography

Who is Bassik Grooove?

Me, and sometimes myself (Jerry). My Production manager (the 'good lady') is always floating about saying things like, 'turn that down, it's too loud' or 'you can do that after you've washed up', in a what is this sh*t, manner.

Why Bassik Grooove?

My Tracks are (due to my limited musical/production knowledge) 'basic', relying on a good 'groove' to keep you locked in. Hence, Bassik Grooove (spelt wrongly to appear to down wiv' the homies).

Do you play live?

Playing live would scare me to death. Besides that, no one would turn up!

How do you think the internet (or mp3) has change the music industry?

We take the 'inter-web' for granted. Where else would an artist like myself, ever get heard? The Internet helps spread a wide range of music and helps people develope musical tastes etc. The Industry needs to adapt to the new music distribution methods. A lot of labels and artists are happy to make their work free of charge under the Creative Commons Music Sharing License.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I guess that is unlikely to happen, but I probably would, providing, I still had some form of artist freedom & musical rights. I think that's where the major labels need to change.

Band History:

Born, grew up (do we ever?), discovered black music, mobile DJ (Dave double decks), spent all my cash and credit card money on CD's, so I started making my own (music that is, not money!)
